Well, actually, I've rarely done these sites on my own, but as part of a team. My role + contribution is listed along side each project.
My last web project was
www.beck-shop.de. This is
a classic book store, a lá Amazon :) ASP + MS SQL + COM+. I was project
manager and chief architect for this seriously complex end to end EAI application. I last worked on this website in November 2003.
Recently I've been lucky enough to work with people high in the corporate
ladder, one of the sites I helped re launch was
www.siemens.com and
www.siemens.de. I had very much of a back-office role here, occasionally turning
up to client meetings as a technical architect. I was a small part of a very
large team working for a long time on these projects. In the same vein, I
played a management part in the re launch of
www.hvb-group.com
Around 2001 I started concentrating more and more on ASP, MS SQL and COM+.
Another major-league web site fitting this bill was
www.vitra.com.
I was lead during the re launch, most of the architecture was, however, already
firmly in place. Most of the credit goes to those who worked on the site before
me. This is the first site I worked on which had won major competitions.
Another interesting project which I managed + architected was for the electronics firm, Marconi. It was basically an SAP front-end, displaying huge numbers of incredibly complex forms for managing the installation of a UMTS backbone. I bit my teeth out on DHTML and interface design, but the site worked like a dream. ASP (JScript) + Oracle. 2000.
For
www.data-becker.com I did absolutely no programming, not a line!
I did help to land the account and so I've listed it here. PHP + MySQL (re
launch). Soon after that I left the company where I was working and so had
limited involvement in that project. 2000.
I was project leader for a very interesting extranet web site for one of Germany's major car makers. (No, I can't say which one). This project was all about managing collision lists produced by CATIA, a 3D modeling tool. The web site coordinated the correction of design and engineering mistakes amongst 400+ designers. Quite challenging, and lots of fun. PHP + Oracle on SG IRIX.
Around the same time I worked on
www.ltur.de, doing a fairly
small job in PHP accessing and displaying flight information from a MySQL
farm. The credit for this site definitely is not mine, but I'll list it here
anyways. 2000.
Chart
Radio was probably my first major league web site, the kind that takes
a team of people 6 months to make and continue upgrading for years. My role
in this project changed a little, but I architected some of the administration
areas and managed smaller aspects of the project. 2000. PHP + MySQL + Real
audio streaming.
A strong favourite of mine has to be
www.dolmetschen.de This
site has also changed a lot since the early days, design by Matt Davies. It
does the owners credit and is, I believe, a good example of what a small business
can achieve with minimal capital outlay. 1999.
One of my favourite ever projects is
www.xfueru.de The site is
still running strong. I did the programming, consulting and still do the occasional
but of work, mainly out of nostalgia. 1998. After that followed some 2 years
of many, many failed web sites.
A site which came soon afterwards but went offline after my business partner and I sold the company. www.spatz-software.com. We sold around 50.000 different hardware and software items, it was good fun but terrible hours + money :( 1997.
My first ever web site, it's changed beyond recognition since then. Some
things are better than before.
www.pharmametrics.com. 1996.
Hello to everyone who works there!
And this is a link to the first job I had on arriving in Germany, at the Institut für Biologie III.
